Well, I thought the destroying angel had passed me by. I spoke too soon. Last Saturday I lost my appetite and instead gained constant nausea. I also can't seem to stay awake either...and I've lost my mind. I can't remember where I've put things or what I was planning to do next. Which is kind of frustrating when you work at a nursing center. Not only can they not remember, but I can't remember where they put their dentures or their TV remote.
Oh! And I have to make more bathroom trips than they do! It's just so bizarre to me that you feel like you have to urinate gallons, and all that comes out is just a little bit.
I took another pregnancy test just to remind myself that I was pregnant. Not that the nausea and fatigue wasn't enough of a reminder. The test was very very positive.
I went to my first appointment. All they did was a pregnancy test and remind me that I need to force myself to eat even when I'd rather throw up. They also said to Steven that if he hasn't noticed already, he will notice sooner or later that I have to take things a bit slower than everybody else.
We were sitting on the couch earlier this week and I was not feeling so great. Steven reached over and started patting my tummy as if I was already showing a baby bump. I thought it was so cute! They're bonding already! And then he decides to say, "Hey baby. I'm YO DADDY." Not what I was expecting but at least we laughed about it.
We went to this place called Nature's Nook and bought me some sea bands. They look like hair scrunchies with a little round button. You put them on a particular spot on your wrist on a pressure point that's supposed to relieve nausea. I wore it to work and it works...although my wrists were really sore after.
A week ago, all I wanted was beef. Hamburgers from Wendy's and Burger King were sublime. I craved meatballs and gravy and Steven was sweet to make them for me one night (I'm getting nauseas right now just thinking of beef...)
Right now, all I want is cold stuff. Ice cream, a bowl of fruit loops with super cold milk, juice, yogurt, carrots and veggie dip, and my favorite treat: an icee. There's nothing like drinking an icee in Rexburg when it's almost 10 degrees.
I had chicken fries last night and they seemed really super good. Which is hilarious because I haven't eaten chicken in three weeks because just thinking of eating chicken made me sick. We'll see.
Well, no baby bump yet. The baby looks like a lizard, which I think is kinda cool. I have my first ultrasound in three weeks. They want to see for sure how far along I am. Right now the due date is August 28, 2009. It might change once I get my ultrasound. Anyways.
We're moving into a two bedroom tomorrow. And Steven starts school in 6 days!!!
Happy New Year!
