While there, the nurse finished up the PKU panel that they started while we were in the hospital. The nurse had to prick her heel and squeeze quite a few drops out. Just before she pricked Kaia, Kaia was laying on the exam table just peachy keen, kinda sleepy. I was holding her other foot and watching the nurse while Steven was holding her arms. Steven said that when the nurse pricked her little heel, Kaia's eyes flew wide open for several seconds and immediately broke into a wail. Delayed reaction from what I gather...I'm glad that I missed it, otherwise I probably would have punched the nurse out of motherly instinct. Steven said that it was very sad.
Last night, our neighbors brought a package over that was delivered accidently to them. A surprise package from Chrissy! In the package was Lila's little bunny slippers. I immediately put them on Kaia. She loved them! She was chillin' in her crib, resting from her earlier injury. Those bunny slippers came at just the right time! Thank you Chrissy for all of the fun stuff, and Caite for the adorable little bracelet!
Kaia loves to keep her binky in...if I don't hold it in, she will... :)
