Home is Where the Haunt is

Here was our Halloween day:

We woke up, Steven and I tried to figure out our costumes (we procrastinated), and had breakfast. We then had a Halloween party! We first threw in a pizza in the oven, while carving our pumpkins. The pizza was delicious. We also drank orange shasta.

Steven used his dremel tool...
He wanted his pumpkin to be perfect. :)

Super spooky, huh?

Even little monkies need a nap...

Phantoms, gypsies, and monkies, oh my!

We dressed up and headed out to a trunk or treat at the town's movie theater. However, it was LAME! There were a few tables set up inside (local businesses) who were handing out tootsie rolls...LAME. But there was a photographer there taking portraits, so we got our portrait taken...they are supposed to send that to us in an email...I'll post it as soon as I get it.

We then came home and watched scary movies. This is a real treat for Steven because I can't stomach scary movies anymore...I get really anxious and have nightmares later that night...LAME...but it's the truth. We popped popcorn and ate a candy bar. We had I think 8 trick or treaters come, so we're left now with all of this fun dip that neither of us wants to eat.

We have improved since last Halloween! Last year we bought pumpkins and forgot to carve them. A few days after Halloween, I turned to Steven and said, "We never carved our pumpkins." So we made pumpkin pie instead and took it to Thanksgiving Dinner. We actually dressed up this year and made an effort to have a fun day. I think each year we'll get better and better at celebrating holidays and making family memories. It was pretty neat to see Steven dress up. He hasn't dressed up since he was 15! Kaia just smiled at his white mask, she wasn't thrown off by it at all. She was the cutest little monkey ever and several times just sat there cooing "ooooooo." I think she was trying to muster some monkey noises. It was a fun day indeed.
