Kaia is clearly trying to tell us that she LOVES being home.
Last night, we got home about 10:00 pm. Kaia decided she had had enough traveling right after we dropped Lauren off and headed up to our house. Luckily, it was only a 10 minute scream while we drove home. Steven and I quickly unloaded the car and then changed Kaia into a fresh diaper. We swaddled Kaia in her fuzzy green blanket, fed her, and laid her in the crib. She immediately got this huge, content smile on her face as I was winding up her mobile. She sat dreamily watching the animals go round and round. I went back a few times to check on her and she still was sweetly smiling.
Then today, I put her in her swing, she was laughing and talking and smiling. Later on I put the swing in front of the TV (I hadn't even turned it on yet) and she got a huge grin on her face. She knew that it was Baby Einstein time. I then changed her and dropped something on the floor. Kaia must have gotten a glimpse of her carseat on the floor next to what I had dropped, because not one second later she started her angry cry. She thought she was going in the carseat! Sweet, patient girl! She put up with a lot this past weekend! I hope she can mend quickly and continue to enjoy being home. :)
Not very much fussing today, indeed! Hopefully we can get back into our routine quickly!
